Formula SAE

A student-led event where universities compete in the production, testing, and competition of formula-style, open-wheel, open-cockpit cars. Teams must design, build, and test a brand new car every year, presenting their designs to industry experts at global competitions while also maintaining professional sponsor relationships in order to get the funds or parts to build the cars. I only ever competed in FSAE Michigan, held at Michigan International Speedway, usually doing brake design and photography/PR for the team. Teams from as far as Canada, Germany, and even South Korea would come to the event. Other events were also held in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

2015 - FAU Owls Racing

Where it all began. Starting on the now-ancient Nikon D50, I began to document the team's progress throughout the season. This was my first taste of motorsport and documentary-style photography.

2017 - FAU Owls Racing

The best (and my last) year with FAU. I went all-out with pictures and videos for this year.

2019 - UNF Osprey Racing

My last year in FSAE. UNF didn't make it past inspection, so I ended up taking pictures of other teams.

2016 - FAU Owls Racing

Year 2. The team was on the upswing, as were my photography skills. Michigan would see some wet-weather action, making for epic pictures with my new D7000.

2018 - UNF Osprey Racing

Year 1 at UNF. A drastic change in pace from FAU, but still fun. Wet weather returned for Michigan, making for some moody pictures.
